Semilooper Management in Castor



Among the different oilseeds being grown in dry lands of Andhra Pradesh state in Southern India, castor (Ricinus communis) stands second after groundnut. It is being grown in an area of 3.93 lakh hectares with a production of 1.31 lakh tons. The productivity of castor is only 134 kg per acre. Castor is the main livelihood crop for the farmers of Mahabubnagar district.
